III AN ADMISSION POLICY:
We are
now in the unfortunate situation that we cannot possibly admit any more all the
good boys we would be glad to have in this school. It is
therefore necessary to adopt an Admission Policy. It is indeed with much regret
that we have to refuse admission to some who may be well suited to this
school. This is simply due to the fact that there are not sufficient places
for all who apply.
CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:
1.
Ability: Without which there can be no question of admission. We
would only harm your child if after admission he is to become a failure.
Therefore we shall not hesitate to inform you, should your son be unfit or
ill prepared.
2. Age: We have a certain age criteria for admission to Class LKG. The age group
is 3 years 5 months but not more than 4 years and 3 months as of 1st June 2012.
i.e. the birth of the child should be in between 1st March 2008 and 31st December 2008.
A child that is too young will find it too difficult to keep pace as greater
maturity is required for the understanding of a subject in the higher
classes.
3. Relationship to the School: Subject to conditions one and two
preference will be given to:
a. Catholics, because, St. Xavier's is a
minority school, built by the minority, and established to cater to the needs of
the Catholic Community of Pune.
b. Brothers of boys who are already in St. Vincent's
school, and who are doing well, to avoid inconvenience to parents.
Mention which class(es) the brother(s)is/are in, and what percentage he/they
obtained in the most recent Examination (attach Xerox copy).
c. Sons of
ex-students of St. Vincent's, especially those who have been involved with the school during the
past 3 years.[SeeRule18(6)on page1]
4. National And Social Integration: We
want to have boys from all Communities and from all social strata.
Wealth is no consideration. The poor boy, who is promising, will receive
special consideration.
IV NOTE WELL
1. Please note: NO DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED IN-VIEW OF,AND ON THE
OCCASION OF ADMISSION AND PROMOTION. Any attempt to offer donations will only
serve as a disqualification. It would be good for you to remember that
our school never accept donations for admission. TO
GUARD YOU AGAINST FRAUD, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE NO AGENTS TO SECURE
ADMISSION.
2. It is advisable to apply to other schools for admission as well.
THE PLEA THAT THE BOY MUST BE ADMITTED TO THIS SCHOOL BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT
APPLIED ELSE WHERE, CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
3. Parents would obviously like to
send their children to the best school often without considering their
capabilities, or the demands such a school would make on their children or
themselves. Not all boys are able to meet the demands made on them at St.
Xavier's. Some would probably do much better in a school where the demands are
not so great. This is an important point parents should consider before applying
for admission in this school.
V. INTERVIEW: PLEASE REMEMBER
:-
1. That there will be an interview of the applicant along with his parents.
2. That it is most painful
for the school authorities to refuse admission. Kindly refrain therefore from
making constant and repeated requests for the admission.
3. That it is equally
painful whenever you try to exert pressure by bringing
recommendations.
4. That all admissions made to LKG are based on the policy
set by the Management. We have been advised to restrict admissions. This policy
is no doubt in the interest of the school and we shall adhere to it.
