The New System of Evaluation w.e.f Academic Year
2005-2006 The
Government of Maharashtra has introduced a new system of evaluation which
they hope will broaden the knowledge and capabilities of the
students. This new system
must be brought into force from the academic year
2005-2006. Though
the syllabus and programme for this academic year had been planned, some
changes need to be made.
We will be grateful to have your cooperation. Evaluation system for Std I to IV I.
Unit
test and years work. There
will be four Unit Tests of 20 marks each in all the
subjects. 1st
Unit Test - July
20th, 21st, 22nd. 2
Unit Test - August
29th, 30th, 31st. OPEN
DAY ON SEPTEMBER 15th 2005. OPEN
DAY ON NOVEMBER 24th 2005. 3rd
Unit Test – Dec 15th, 16th, 19th,
20th 2005 OPEN
DAY ON JANUARY 12th 2006. 4th
Unit Tests – February 6th, 7th, 8th
2006. Years
Work. : - 20 Marks for the
year will be allotted to assignments given. Graded
Subjects :- Arts, PT, Computers., EVS, Work Experience will be tested 4
times a year. Arts and PT
will be tested at the Terminals and Final Examinations as well. Value Ed. Will be tested at
the Terminal and Final Examinations only. II.
Terminal
Examination : There
will be two major exams each academic year. a.
English
– Maximum marks out of 100.
Written paper out of
80. Oral out of 20 -
This exam will include conversation, group
discussion, speeches, reading and recitation of poems etc. Oral
examinations will be conducted before the written
examination. Please
Note : Marathi is NOT a compulsory subject. Marathi will be tested but not
added in the final total. b.
Science
: Maximum marks 100, Written paper out of 80, Practical exam out of 20 –
conducted before the written papers. c.
No
orals for Maths, History, Geography. Portion
for the 1st Term Exam will include Unit Test I & II
Portions as well. Portion for
the 2nd Term Examination will include portion of Unit Test III
and IV. III.
Projects
: (Std III & IV ONLY) Projects
will be a part of the syllabus though no extra periods will be allotted
for projects in the timetable.
100 marks have been allotted for the same. Students have to prepare two
projects. (A Group
Project in the First Term and an Individual Project in the Second
Term). The project will
be adjudged on the basis of Individual creativity, assimilation of
information, presentation etc. Gradation
of Results
:-
All
marks will ultimately be converted into grades in the annual
report. Classification

will have to fulfill the following conditions for
promotions.
